The Croatian Veterinary Institute, with a long and rich tradition since 1933, is a scientific and professional-diagnostic-analytical institution that, with its comprehensive activities, makes an immeasurable contribution to the performance of veterinary activities in the Republic of Croatia.
The Law on Veterinary Medicine entrusts the Institute with the tasks of monitoring and studying the epizootiological state of infectious and other animal diseases and perfecting methods for their suppression. The branches of the Institute – the Križevci Veterinary Institute, the Rijeka Veterinary Institute, the Split Veterinary Institute, the Vinkovci Veterinary Institute and the Zagreb Poultry Center – are also working on the tasks of detecting, monitoring and studying the occurrence and spread of infectious and other diseases, as well as proposing the most favorable methods for their prevention and control.
